References IV
Where I offer my best links and music recommendations on the September Equinox, 2021.
I post these lists alongside my equinoctial and solstitial personal newsletter.
Links
- Werner Herzog on skateboarding
- Short-haul flights should be banned
- Applied Divinity Studies is my favorite new blog. For example: By writing off social media celebrities as non-interesting, we’re committing to the view that only private people can actually be interesting. But by definition, we can’t observe their lives, locking us into the uncertain view that there may or may not be super interesting millenials we simply don’t know about. Or we could just bite the bullet and accept that sure, Mr. Beast’s life is pretty cool.
- A discussion of Bo Burnham’s Inside
- My friend made this website about the filibuster
- The trees of 40 fruit, which actually produce forty different kinds of fruit
- Two bots: one that tweets whenever NYT uses a new word and another that makes 5-7-5 haiku from Wikipedia excerpts. Also, nonstandard mcdonald’s
- Did you forget the Dog of Wisdom? I didn’t.
- I cried watching the Malice in the Palace documentary - fellow Pacers fans will understand (also, here’s some more basketball content)
